Dream Come True

This past weekend I was able to fulfill a dream I have had sense I was 11 years old. I went to NKOTB in concert!! It was one of the best concerts I've ever been too. I flew to San Antonio & went with my dear friend Kati. I wouldn't have wanted to go with anyone else! The night started off perfect with Kati busting out some old posters and decorating her house! Kati worked her magic and got us backstage before the concert. We were able to meet the drummers for Natasha Bedingfield and NKOTB. Even though Kati and I didn't get to see the B Boys, Chris Coleman (NKOTB drummer pictured above) gave us the VIP treatment and walked us to our seats. So we didn't have to wait in any lines or pay for parking! It was the best. Did Kati & I scream our heads off when they got on stage? YES! Did we loose our voices? YES! Did I offer to take my shirt off for Joey & Donny? YES! Did we get a little emotional when the concert was over? YES! Was it the best night ever? Absolutely!!

Motivation

I committed to run a half marathon in February with my sisters, Mom, Kerstin & cousin Amy. I just read my sister Becky's blog and it totally motivated me to kick it into high gear. I've been doing the training but have not been as constant as I would like. I've got a couple of days left on my meds for the Bells Palsy and once I'm done, I'm back in the saddle! Hopefully by posting this, it will also help me!

Drama...

Last Tuesday afternoon while I was at work I noticed that I was having a hard time moving the right side of my face. I really didn't think it was a big deal even though when I would take a drink of water and it would drip out the right side of my mouth. Again, that didn't alarm me. Doesn't everyone spit water when they drink? Then that night while I was on my way to my book club I noticed that I couldn't feel the right side of my face nor close my eye. And when I smiled, only the left side moved. I told my friend Kim about it and she said it sounds like I have Bells Palsy. Then Wednesday morning, while at work, my tough went numb. That finally scared me enough to call the doctor. And it turns out I have a mild case of Bells Palsy. Although it's been really nice to be able to put on mascara or put my contact in without my eye moving, it's pretty weird to look in the mirror and only see one of my eye's blink. I am really glad it's only a mild case because when I looked it up online... it freaked me out. It is getting better and I should be back to "normal" by the end of the month.

Fun filled weekend

My dear friend Kati came to vist me this weekend. It was so much fun. Friday night we went out to dinner and then to see an Abba cover band with my friends Jodi & Kim. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. There was this awesome guy in the crowd who knew the songs better than the band! He made the show totally worth it. All though, my favorite was the singer in the skin tight jumpsuit. His chest hair coming out of the v-neck top made it even better.
